Yes, you are right. You have to edit the Chart template and customize it according to your need. If you want to add a button inside chart you can add a new button inside the Chart template. 

Visifire does not allow users to edit the template or the content of chart elements eg. Title. However, you can edit the template of the chart. We had to come up with this limitation in order to keep the XAML structure simple.
